GENUINE

What is fingerprinting?

Figerprinting, also known as hashing or digesting, is creating a cryptographic digest on a document. Each document has a unique digest, this means that it is computationally infeasible to create a second document that has the same digest. So, like digital signature, the fingerprint will change if the document is changed in any way. To uniquely associate you with the fingerprint, we require that you login into your GenuineDoc account prior to submitting new fingerprints.

We use the terms 'fingerprint', 'hash', and 'digest' interchangeably, they are synonyms in this context.
